Beauty and Spa Therapy Advanced Technical Diploma Level 3

Course Overview

This is a new exciting qualification will provide you with the most updated qualification recognised within the industry.

The course is full time and consists of a mixture of theory and practical sessions, taught by friendly, enthusiastic staff who have over 30 years’ experience in this industry. 

The college has excellent training facilities which runs in The Imagery (professional spa). Your tutor will formatively assess your progress using a variety of methods, including practical observations, question and answer sessions, written assessments, case studies and assignments. At the end of your course you will complete a written exam and a practical synoptic assessment.

Our success rates are excellent and past learners have gone on to work in local spas and Steiner Cruise ships.

This course offers an excellent qualification in Spa Therapy treatments.

Course Content

The course will focus on the following areas:

  • Promoting Products and Services
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Dry Spa Treatments – Including body brush, exfoliation and body wraps
  • Body Electrics
  • Facial Electrics
  • Body Massage – including advanced massage techniques
  • Hot Stone Massage

Students should be able to demonstrate a commitment to entering a career in the relevant industry and an understanding of the requirements of working in this area. Students must be able to work effectively with others and be willing to carry out and receive treatments. You will be expected to carry out treatments on the general public.

  • NHS staff health and wellbeing days
  • Beauty Therapist uniform

All students must purchase a relevant kit uniform from the appropriate suppliers. Costs will be discussed at enrolment and during the college induction. Students will be required to carry out treatments on the general public who book in as clients at our reception
area. On occasion you will also need to provide paying models for your practical assessments.

Learners will undertake a period of work experience appropriate to your course as part of the programme of study.

We work with professional product companies such as Dermalogica and Spa Rituals.

We also have visits to local spa's including Hurlston Hall.

Entry Requirements

Students must have Level 2 Beauty Therapy or equivalent qualifications in this subject.

For Beauty Therapy and Spa courses students should be able to demonstrate a commitment to entering a career in the relevant industry and an understanding of the requirements of working in this area.

A certain level of manual dexterity will be required for Beauty Therapy courses.

Learning & Assessment Methods

Your tutor will formatively assess your progress using a variety of methods, including practical observations, question and answer sessions, written assessments, case studies and assignments. At the end of your course you will complete a written exam and a practical synoptic assessment.

Qualifications Gained

Beauty and Spa Therapy Advanced Technical Diploma Level 3.

English and Maths if appropriate.

Progression Opportunities

This industry is consistently moving forward and there are opportunities to progress onto a foundation or BSc (Hons) Spa Management, or travel the world working on cruise ships, develop skills in a local salon or spa, embrace the rewards of retail sales or even grow your own business.
